EL461 narrow-profile lock with both handles electrically controlled
EL461 is a DIN narrow-profile lock that electrically engages both handles. It suits internal openings controlled in both directions, rather than applications requiring EL460's mechanical opening by the inside handle.

Application
For medium-traffic internal storage, maintenance or controlled rooms. It deadlocks automatically on closing. Record any requirement for authorisation on both entry and exit in the opening schedule.
Selection limits
Not for exit doors requiring EN179/EN1125 certified escape operation, and not for door automatics. Fail-unlocked operation is not the same as a certified mechanical escape function; assess whether both-side control is appropriate.
How to choose
EL460 uses a split spindle for mechanical inside opening; EL461 uses a straight spindle with both handles controlled. Check spindles, handles and access logic rather than choosing solely by faceplate size.
