Sustainability through selection and maintenance
Appropriate selection, installation and maintenance can reduce unnecessary replacement. Material and environmental claims should be checked for the specific model, not inferred from a range-wide number.
Start with operating conditions
Outdoor, coastal, dusty and high-traffic locations place different demands on products and maintenance. Record these conditions before choosing the lock body, shackle, finish and accessories; appearance alone is not a specification.
Plan maintenance and replacement
Ask about maintenance instructions, permitted consumables, replaceable parts and access for servicing. Retrofit projects also need checks against the existing opening and key system.
Service life depends on the model, installation, environment and maintenance. This website does not promise a universal lifespan, recycling percentage or environmental certification for all products.
Check material and environmental documents
If your project requires environmental declarations or material compliance documents, provide the requirement and full model reference. Review the scope, revision and validity of each document; a group-level or range-level statement does not automatically cover every product.
How CLTECH can help
We help organise the required documentation, check available product files and discuss maintenance or replacement options. Document availability and service scope are confirmed for the selected model.
